Topological Algebras in Congruence-Permutable Varieties
by
John Coleman
Franciscan University of Steubenville

In his paper "Varieties of Topological Algebras, " Walter Taylor showed that topological algebras in congruence-permutable varieties have a particularly rich theory and that some well-known results of topological groups and rings extend to this more general context. In this talk I survey what is currently known about topological algebras in such varieities and present some new generalizations of known results in topological groups.
