Classical chaos in the relativistic hydronen-like atom in constant uniform magnetic field

Regular and chaotic dynamics of the relativistic hydrogen-like atom in a constant uniform magnetic field is studied on the basis of treatment of relativistic equations of motion for this system. Appropriate scaling transformations for the relativistic Hamiltonian are offered. Phase space portraits are plotted for various values of nuclear charge and scaled energy. It is found that the relativistic dynamics is more chaotic than the nonrelativistic one. The Lyapunov exponents are plotted for the relativistic case and compared with nonrelativistic counterpart of the system.
