Affine Lie algebras and vertex operator algebras

The talk will consist of two parts: (1) We will discuss How to construct vertex operator algebras from highest weight representations of affine Kac-Moody algebras. (2) We will study the weight one Lie algebra and the corresponding affine Lie algebra inside an abstract vertex operator algebra.
