In the last years, in the frame of the EC Project “ONSITEFORMASONRY” for the NDT (Non Destructive Tests) on masonry structures, our main task concerned the improvement and application of different micro-seismic methods on masonry structures.

The objectives were to improve the resolution power of the survey; to improve the engineering aspects of the measurement systems by means of several special tools; to develop very low impact technologies to operate on very delicate walls.

The different techniques proposed by the different partners have been applied in a series of selected test-sites in the different countries.

A selection of examples will be shown from the tests made in the Castle of Pisece (Slovenia), the Veltrusy Castle near Prague (Czech Republic), the Altes Museum and the BAM laboratories in Berlin, the Wartburg Castle near Eisenach in Germany; the Avio Castle at Ala di Trento, the Bottagisio Palace in Verona and the S. Alessandro church of Lucca in Italy. Laboratory tests were made in Madrid and in Prague.
