A shadow approach to the Volume Conjecture
by
Francesco Costantino
IRMA, Strasbourg

We describe how the theory of Turaev's shadows can be applied to the study of the Volume Conjecture. In particular, after recalling some the main facts on shadows, we use these objects to extend the VC to the case of links contained in connected sums of S2 ×S1. Then, we show how to prove the conjecture for the infinite family of "Universal Hyperbolic Links".
