Four dimensional quarantined epidemic model of SIQR type is considered with generalized incidence rate .The equilibria, stability, Hopf bifurcation are studied .Sufficient conditions for such a model to admit a saddle-node bifurcation are given .It is shown that the system may exhibit threshold dynamics depending on quarantine reproduction number.

Key words: Epidemic models ,Quarantine ,Endemic equilibrium, Stability,Hopf bifurcation
