Hyberbolic Initial Boundary Value Problems

The purpose of this keynote lecture in the minisymposium on Hyperbolic Conservation Laws is to give a survey of standard results and to present most recent results regarding Initial Boundary Value Problems for hyperbolic systems of PDEs, in one or several space dimensions, in particular in connection with the stability of shocks and with surface waves.
