Into the realm of partially hyperbolic dynamics
by

A partially hyperbolic dynamical system is one that displays hyperbolic behavior at every point, but only in certain invariant directions. A central problem in smooth dynamics is to determine which chaotic features of hyperbolic systems extend to partially hyperbolic systems. I will discuss recent progess on this problem in the conservative setting and speculate on its future.
