Transfer operators and associated covariant representations

We show that harmonic functions for certain transfer operators are in one-to-one correspondence with operators that commute with the associated covariant representations. Applications include: spectral analysis of transfer operators, wavelet constructions on fractals, and Fourier series on fractal measures.
