Optimal representations in the multi-spline type spaces
by

From the classical Shannon theorem to the recent developments in sampling theory, the spline-type spaces (sometimes called shift invariant spaces) have been a key player in signal and image processing applications. With the view towards the new challenges in wireless telecommunications, multi-spline type spaces generated by the close span of a finite family of functions and their translations are getting recently more attention. The talk wants present some new possibilities of better and cheaper representations of functions and operators going from the theory to the numerical computations.
