Discretizations of the Toda-type lattices

There exist two different types of Bäcklund transformations for the NLS-like equations. Their iterations yield two classes of differential-difference equations, the typical representative of the first one is the Toda lattice and the second class contains analogs of the relativistic Toda lattice. Nonlinear superposition principle for these two kinds of BT brings to the integrable discrete equations on the Z2 lattice.
