Orders and Bilinear Forms

We show how orders on certain quotient rings are related to positive bilinear and quadratic forms. These orders may be lattice orders even though the convex ideal which generates the quotient ring is not lattice-ordered. We investigate this latter situation in the context of lattice-ordered groups.
