A new window on the consistency of the normal Moore space conjecture
by
Kerry Richardson
The University of Auckland

The normal Moore space conjecture asserts that every normal Moore space is metrisable. The conjecture is known to be consistent with ZFC assuming the consistency of large cardinals. Iterated Sacks forcing is used to try to produce a model of the normal Moore space conjecture when 2\aleph0=\aleph2, the latter requirement being the new window.
