Let P be a non-positively curved polygon of groups with an even number of sides and a symmetric commutative diagram. Then, P contains an obvious torsion free subgroup of finite index, S, and I will show that under a few innocuous assumptions, S is generated by surface subgroups of P. A modification gives conditions under which S is normally generated by surface subgroups of P.
