Geometry and logical complexity in HNN's of Z+Z

We consider groups that are obtained from Z+Z by taking multiple HNN extensions, where each HNN stable letter identifies a pair of cyclic subgroups in Z+Z. This gives a new source of isoperimetric inequalities, including IP's strictly between quadratic and cubic.
