Permanence of Algebras under Functional Calculus

Let f be an analytic function. Let Uf(H) be the class of all operators T on the Hilbert space H such that T and f(T) generate the same norm-closed algebra. A description of the closure of this class (and some similar ones) in terms of the various parts of the spectrum will be presented.
