Construction of Elementary Functions as Scott Continuous Maps
by
Abbas Edalat
Department of Computing, Imperial College, London

We give a short account of the framework for exact real number computation using linear frational transformations on the one-point compactification of the real line, and show that the algorithms for elementary functions in this setting represent these functions as Scott continuous maps on the domain of intervals of the one-point compactification of the real line.
