A Complete Classification of Inverse Limit Spaces of Tent Maps with Periodic Critical Points

We present a complete classification of inverse limit spaces of tent maps with periodic critical points by proving the following theorem:

If f and g are tent maps with periodic critical points then lim <-- {[0, 1], f} is homeomorphic to lim <-- {[0, 1], g} if, and only if, the kneading sequence of f is exactly the same as the kneading sequence of g.

This answers a long-standing question of W.T. Ingram.
