Dichotomy of a two parameter system of rotations

We present a new joint result with Michael Boshernitzan about a two parameter system of rotations. The result states that either a piecewise rotation with two atoms is a global attractor, global repeller, or it an invertible map. The main tools in the proof of this result include properties of uniformly distributed functions. The talk will feature an interactive computer presentation.
