Fractals and the Computation of Distance for Images
by

The image coding problem led us to one of the central questions :how images can be computed or what the distance between two images is.
The mathematician Felix Hausdorff proposed a method for determining the distance which is now named after him - the Hausdorff distance.
This paper discusses the choices of distance-function like : the box-metric, an approximation of the Euclidian distance, the Kantorovich distance.
