Abstract relational algebras in the sense of E.F. Codd

Let A be a right normal band possessing the upper bound property w.r.t. its natural ordering. By a relation over A we mean a subset R of any L-equivalence class of A, where L is the right Green's equivalence on A. We turn the set Rel of all relations over A into an algebra of relations, and show that such algebras can be treated an abstract version of Codd's relational algebras.
