Algebraic Treatment of Database Relations
by

Since the 1970's the theory of databases is influenced by the Relational Model of E.F. Codd based on the notion of relations. The Relational Calculus and the Relational Models are algebraic descriptions and interfaces to databases in theory and (at least indirectly) in practice.
In the context of Conceptual Knowledge Processing we can take advantage of these properties to turn information from existent database systems into accessible conceptual information systems.
