Online testing is an important and essential ingredient of distance/online learning whether the instruction is conducted using Internet ot Intranet or LAN. Online testing has come under fire for the fact that it encourages clicking without thinking, and that it does not distinguish between a student who knows and the one who is tentative or does not know. The latest version of Scientific Notebook/Scientific WorkPlace provides tools that can be used for a viable solution of this problem. Problems in online testing will be discussed and a solution will be demonstrated.
