Electrical load forecasting is very important for power system operators and planners, since many important functions in power system operational planning, such as unit commitment, economic dispatch, maintenance scheduling, and expansion planning are usually performed based on the forecasted loads. Load forecasting helps the system operator to efficiently schedule the spinning reserve allocation. In this paper, current day to seven days ahead peak load forecasting is done using Non-Linear and Linear Regression techniques by incorporating the effect of weather and previous day load parameters. The quality of peak load forecasting (PLF) is compared on the basis of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE).
