A new approach to critical point theory using continuous selections of multivalued mappings
by
Youssef Jabri
Faculty of Sciences, Oujda, Morocco

We answer some open question posed in an earlier paper:

Jabri, Y.; Moussaoui, M. A critical point theorem without compactness and applications. Nonlinear Anal. 32 (1998), no. 3, 363-380.

and extends and unify the three abstract critical point theorems that appear in that paper. These were applied to treat some nonlinear PDE problems. We show thay are all corollaries of a new more abstract resultwhich uses continuous selections of multivalued mappings. This topological intrusion is at the best of our knowledge new!
