Functorial Equations and their Relationship with Operads

We use functorial equations to define functors that imitate certain elementary functions of real variable, discuss the algebraic structures they carry, and point out some similarities in their behaviour with operads. In addition, the forgetful (exponential) functor from non-unital S-algebras into S-modules will be used to derive the Quillen's fundamental SS for THH.
