Circle map arising from forced integrate and fire oscillators

Phase dynamics of a forced integrate and fire oscillator are usually encoded by a circle map. The synchronization properties of the firing time sequences are studied identifying the periodic attractors of an appropriate circle map, the firing phase map. In order to apply the circle maps theory it is necessary to investigate the regularity properties (continuity and injectivity) of the firing phase map. In this talk we present new results that apply to a general class of integrate and firing systems, which allow us to know those regularity properties without an explicit knowledge of the firing map.
