On a Functional Approach to Spectral Problems of Linear Algebra

The paper is devoted to constructing projections onto invariant subspaces of linear continuous operators. We present a new method for approximate constructing projections. This method is functional and based on some theorems by the author. We apply these theorems to the problem on approximate constructing projections onto invariant subspaces of linear operators in the finite-dimensional case. In particular, we obtain solving well-known problems on the matrix spectrum dichotomy, a new variant of the matrix sign function method and solving some new problems on the matrix spectrum trichotomy.
