Subdefinite Models and Constraint Programming
by
Tatyana Yakhno
Department of Computer Science, Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkey

The presentation will describe a declarative model of computation, constraint programming, and systems based on this approach. This model allows users to specify their problems without writing detailed algorithms. On the base of built-in general and problem-oriented algorithms and heuristics the system is looking for solutions. Subdefinite model allows users to specify problems with incomplete, inexact data - the feature which is very important in Artificial Intelligence problems. Several applications from Artificial Intelligence, financial problems and CAD will be considered.
