How topological are lax algebras?
by
Maria Manuel Clementino
Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal
Coauthors: Dirk Hofmann

Categories of lax algebras as studied by Barr (see also [1]) comprise several topological examples, like the categories of metric, quasi-uniform, topological and approach spaces. In this talk we will show that, in a suitable setting, categories of lax algebras have indeed a topological nature, which permits the development of interesting topological notions and techniques in this general framework.
