CycDesigN is a computer package for the generation of optimal or near-optimal experimental designs. It provides the most comprehensive design generation package yet available for experimenters, particularly those involved in field, glasshouse and laboratory trials. The design types covered incorporate the most recent developments in research into the construction of experimental designs.

The first version of CycDesigN was released in 1997 and has proved very popular with over 100 licences in 31 countries. The new version of the package has recently been released and contains some important changes and a number of new features. In particular the algorithm for generating optimal or near-optimal designs has been considerably improved, there are improvements and a greater range of options for the construction of latinized row-column designs, an improved algorithm for constructing resolvable factorial designs, and also new facilities for the construction of spatial designs.

The new version of the package will be demonstrated followed by a presentation on the construction of spatial designs in CycDesigN.
