Characterization of the log-logistic distribution through recurrence relations of single and product moments of order statistics

The log-logistic distribution is characterized using recurrence relations of single and product moments of order statistics. A class of a scale invariant estimators of the shape parameter of the log-logistic distribution are obtained and compared to those obtained by using the Probability Weighted Method (PWM). Tables of expected values, variances and MSE's of a class of moment estimators of the shape parameter are provided.
