Subgroups of the unit group of group rings

The unit group of an integral group ring ZG is a fundamental object of investigation, in particular with respect to the isomorphism problem. It recently has been shown that there is a close relationship of this problem with the normalizer of G in the full unit group and also with the centre of the unit group. In this talk we report on recent results on these and some other subgroups of the unit group.
