(p, q, r)-Generations and nX-Complementary Generations of some Sporadic Groups

A finite group G is (l, m, n)-generated if it is a quotient group of the triangle group T(l, m, n) = <x, y, z | xl = ym = zn = xyz = 1 >. Suppose that nX is a conjugacy class of elements of order n in the group G. G is called nX - complementary generated if, for any arbitrary x in G - { 1 }, there is a y in nX such that G= < x, y > .

In some research papers the problem is posed to find all possible (l, m, n)- and nX-complementary generations for the non-abelian finite simple groups. In this talk we report on (p, q, r)-generations and nX-complementary generations, p, q and r are distinct primes, for some sporadic groups.

Keywords and Phrases: (p, q, r)-generation, nX- complementary generation, sporadic group, triangle group.
