Raising Standards of Statistical Literacy for School Pupils, Students, Teachers and Professionals

I will describe some short- and long-term projects being managed at the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education that aim to: (i) Enhance data handling and statistics skills of pupils aged 7-18; (ii) Help teachers of those pupils to gain experience with using Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in learning and teaching;

(iii) Provide examples of good practice in teaching statistics at higher education level;

(iv) Help with professional development of new and experienced teachers of statistics at university level;

(v) Enhance the professional development of professionally qualified statisticians.
