A continuum is a compact, connected, metric space. Given a continuum X, its hyperspace of subcontinua C(X) is the set of all subcontina of X. A selection is a continuos function s from C(X) onto X, such that s(A) is in A for every A in C(X). Ward and Nadler proved that only dendroids admit selections. In this talk we will talk about which families of dendroids admit open selections.
