Thurston norm is polynomial time certifiable.

We show that given a 3-manifold M and class [c] in H_2(M, R), there is a certificate of the Thurston norm of [c] which is polynomial time verifiable. The certificate is an encoding of a taut sutured manifold hierarchy.
