We utilize topological methods of dual families and simplicial structures to prove theorems on the attainment of a simultaneous infimum by a compatible family of functions of two variables. We show that several classical theorems (e.g., von Neumann minimax theorem, Nash equilibrium theorem, Gale-Nikaido equilibrium theorem, and Kakutani's fixed point theorem) can be derived from our infimum principles.
