The Story of a Topological Game
by
Gary Gruenhage
Auburn University
We give a survey of a certain infinite topological game, seemingly minor variations of which have had diverse applications w.r.t. covering properties, characterizing weakly compact subsets of Banach spaces, and characterizing the Baire property in function spaces with the compact-open topology. New results continue to appear, and interesting unsolved problems remain.
