The coefficients of the Jones polynomial of alternating knots and the growth of the hyperbolic volume

Recently, Mark Lackenby showed that the hyperbolic volume of an alternating knot complement is linearly bounded from below and above by the twist number. We show, how the twist number can be found in the Jones polynomial of the knot.
