A size-structured chemostat model of two competing populations with an external inhibitor in discrete time is derived and analyzed. It is shown that both populations can coexist with each other when the net reproductive numbers of both populations near the boundary steady states are greater than one. In this case, the system also possesses a unique coexisting equilibrium.
