We describe a new developments of the StarGazer(SG) - star field visualization system and its integration to Wide-Field Plate Database- WFPDB (www.skyachive.org).The SG astronomical software system is designed for star field visualization based on stellar and deep-sky objects catalogues (YBS, SAO, Tycho, GSC-ACT, USNO A2) within a database over 60 million objects. Written in Perl, the web-based client-server a achitecture is used, powered by PostgreSQL as a search engine (www.skyarcvhive.org/stargazer).We are reporting the support of variable star catalogues like GCVS in StarGazer and the new attempts of automatic identification of the stars on the digital images and digitalized photographic plates.
