Many statements about the existence of uncountable objects can be changed by forcing. This is in contrast to the fact that modest large cardinal assumptions imply projective statements are forcing absolute. I will talk about a class of statements about the uncountable that are forcing absolute and an application to `countable dense homogeneous' metric spaces.
