In the present paper we derive a new information theoretic model for testing and measurement of dependence among attributes in a contingency table. A relationship between information theoretic measure and chi-square statistic is established and discussed with numerical problems. A new generalized information theoretic measure is defined and studied in details. Maximum entropy model for estimation of missing data in design of experiment is also explained.

Key Words: Maximum entropy principle; Contingency table; Lagrange multipliers;

Chi-square information; Latin square design and Randomized block.
