Weak Product Recurrence Does Not Imply Distality

A point x in a dynamical system is said to be weakly product recurrent if x recurs in tandem with any uniformly recurrent point from any other dynamical system. We prove that weak product recurrence does not imply distality, thus answering a question posed by Auslander and Furstenberg.
