An Outlier Test for a Three Parameter Gamma Sample

A three parameter gamma distribution has been considered, which has several applications like in nutritional science data etc. In this paper an outlier detection procedure based on confidence band of order statistics is proposed. This procedure not only detects the extreme values as outliers, but also the ‘in between’ values at the same time. Moreover, even if more than one outlier is present, all of them are detected simultaneously. Some examples are highlighted and the performance of the test is obtained and compared with some other similar work. It has been found that the performance of this procedure is better than the earlier work.
