The steady boundary layer flow of a viscous ,incmpresible, electrically conducting fluid through a porous medium caused by stretching a porous wall under a transverse magnetic field. The equation of motion is reduced to nonlinear ordinary differential equation. First, the exact solution is determined for the existing parameters. Then a perturbation solutions are derived for the large magnetic parameter. Finally, A direct numerical solution of the governing equation is obtained subject to relevent boundary conditions for the exixting flow parameters by using Runge-Kutta algorithm with shooting technique. The effects of the various exixting parameters entering into the problem on the velocity field, skin friction are discussed with the help of tables and graphs.
