People have known about electromagnetic waves for about a century .Before we study the problem let us first understand EMR .”Modified currents and voltage generate oscillation of the electrical and magnetic field which propagates in space .The electric and magnetic components oscillate at right angels to each other” these waves are termed as EMR or Electro Magnetic Radiations .

Over the last thirty years the transmission density has doubled every four years , this means that electromagnetic pollution has gone up around 100 times .The wavelength used are getting shorter we have now entered the microwave era where we are dealing with minuscule dimensions .Shorter the wave more energy they produce .

The present study was carried out in India where almost 10 years back cellular phone knocked doors The radiation level and density of population are high in India making it a more complex situation .The survey was conducted in cities of northern India in the state of Uttar Pradesh which happens to be most populated state of the country The observations shows alarming situation and making it almost clear that the places with multiple mobile towers and high density of population show greater symptoms of hazard radiations But now we have many questions which have to be answered and investigated .Cellular phone technology has many destructive side . Today ,The amount of microwave our planets swims in far surpasses the output of the sun and it’s making people environment sick of which many of us are not aware of .

The health consequences of EMR exposure vary in intensity from mild symptoms to serious diseases Some symptoms are termed as ‘"radio wave sickness".various symptoms have been discussed..People with electromagnetic sensitivity experience a social stigma that denies their health conditions as EMR related ..

The studies show that it is not only humans but also animals and birds who have been effected by the radiation pollution . The disorientation of birds has been reported .This is evident in India ,the example of Bharatpur bird sanctuary is an interesting one as birds from Siberia are now landing on new spots every winters and some never reach the destination Scientists are baffled by the phenomenon. EMR are catalytic to initiate cancer this happens because of interference of electromagnetic field radiations from towers and mobile phone with electric field inside human cells The people working or living in continuous exposure of EMR radiation are under great risk group . In a news article published in The Hindu On Jan 13 2006 Kochi ,Petition by M.K.Sabu,a doctor and two others opposed the move of Bharti Televenture ,an Indian telecommunication company , to set up huge telecommunication tower near there residence on health grounds .According to them the business group have not cared to inform public about the hazardous consequences of EMR on human health . Now almost 10 years after mobile phones came to India in which the users have gone up in last 4 years many folds and so the operators and the towers .Today we can see towers mounted on school buildings and even hospitals this is very surprising the patients and the children are exposed to high radiation area for longer duration

The tolerance of various parts of our body is different for these EMR exposures . Current paper presents the tolerance of our body and parts, compared with actual radiation level in effected areas. Also measures of minimizing the radiation hazards while using the mobile device have been discussed .
