High Performance Computing at the Army Research Laboratory - Impact of cluster technology
by
Charles J. Nietubicz
Army Research Laboratory
The Army Research Laboratory has a long history in the development, use, and application of High Performance Computing(HPC) for weapons development and analysis. Most recently the use of large scale clusters are providing the compute capability to solve complex problems and gain insight to the underlying physics. This presentation will take a look at the rich history of HPC at ARL, its development and operation, the DOD High Performance Computing Moderization Program, the ARL Major Shared Resource Center and its move to large scale commodity clusters. Recent applications and scalability results will be discussed.
