An Existence Result for a Singular Semipositone Problem

We consider the boundary value problem
where W is a bounded domain, f is a positive function in
L∞(W), 0 < a < 1, and
g:[0, ∞)→ (-∞, ∞) is a bounded continuous function such
that g(0) < 0 and such that g(s) is eventually positive for s > 0. Under suitable
conditions on g we show that the problem has at least one positive solution.
